Been a while

Just realised that I've not posted here in a while!

Since the last post was about starting a photography course, then this one is too.  I've finished the basic course and started the intermediate, and in between, had a wee break in Marrakesh.  So, that's us pretty much up to date.

Last week, at the course, the instructor asked where I'd gone on holiday.  The exchange went something like this....

"So where did you get to on your travels?"

"Marrakesh.  It's getting to be my favourite city"

"You'll have had some great photo ops there.  Hope you took your camera."

".............."

"You DID take your camera?"

"Well, I only had hand luggage, so not exactly.  I did take a wee compact camera, and I did get some cool photos though."

"Hmmmm.  I'll let you off I suppose."

Travels

In case anyone has been living in a cave and totally cut off from civilisation, there's a referendum on independence taking place in Scotland next week.
To be honest I'll be glad when it's all over, and to that end, once I've voted (YES in case you're wondering), I'll be heading off to explore Crete for a week.

Taking the walking boots with me, and a timetable for the local buses, and just getting out and exploring.
Of course, there will be plenty of sampling of the local vino.  It would be rude not to.

Normal service has been resumed.

So, just almost two weeks since we got back from Jordan, and it's starting to feel like we were never away.
I'm starting to re-evaluate things.  I like travelling, but I've accumulated a shitload of stuff.  Some of it needs to go.
I need to cut back on the spending as well, as I really want to spend more time abroad.  It's a big world out there, and you only have a limited time to see as much of it as you can, and that means cutting out buying crap, and squirrelling away money for the next trip.

It's not going to be easy, especially as I've still got to pay for the one we're just been on, but it's doable if I put my mind to it.
